In partnership with Chrysler, they established the Diamond Star Motor Company and began making cars in the U.S. in the late 80s. Chrysler and Mitsubishi both own 50% shares of the venture. The successful partnership launched exceptional products such as the Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon, and the Plymouth Laser.
Later on, the Mitsubishi and Chrysler partnership ended in the early 90s. Mitsubishi maintained its title as a renowned automaker globally.
